The Brave Officer
In the heart of a poor neighborhood, a group of young children dreamed of one day reaching high ranks in their country. They knew it was difficult and that the road to their dreams would not be easy.
Years passed, and the dreams of those children, now grown into young men, faded away under the weight of life's hardships—except for one. His name was Ayman. Unlike the others, Ayman never gave up on his dream of becoming a military officer.
He graduated from high school with good grades that allowed him to enter the country's most prestigious law school. Despite the difficulties of life, he fought alone, facing the challenges of studying and the high financial costs.
Four years passed, and Ayman graduated with honors from law school. The time had come to apply for the entrance exam to the military academy—a day he had awaited for many years. Around 600 young men applied for the exam, but only 74 would be accepted. The test was incredibly difficult for Ayman.
After a long 20-day wait, the results were finally announced. Ayman, filled with fear, went to check the list. But the greatest shock of his life struck him—his name was not there.
It was an unbearably difficult moment. The dream he had built his life upon had vanished in seconds, leaving him devastated. But then, he remembered all the struggles he had endured and the poverty his family still suffered from.
He gathered his strength, tears filling his eyes, determined to overcome the greatest challenge of his life. He spent an entire year preparing for what would be his final chance—if he failed this time, he would never be allowed to take the exam again.
Once again, the exam was extremely difficult. Ayman also faced discrimination because he came from a poor neighborhood—something that rarely led to acceptance in the academy.
The results day arrived, and once again, the biggest shock awaited him—his name was not on the list. He lost all hope as he walked out of the results hall. But just as he was leaving, someone called his name and asked him to wait. The list was not yet complete—they were still missing one candidate.
This time, the missing name was Ayman’s. A surge of emotions overwhelmed him—tears, joy, and pride all at once.
Ten days later, in his village, a military car pulled up in front of Ayman's house. As he stepped out, his father saw him, called for his mother, and they both ran towards him, embracing him with overwhelming happiness. His father felt immense pride—he had raised a son who had become a military officer.
Ayman’s success became an inspiration for everyone in the neighborhood. Even his friends, who had long abandoned their dreams, felt motivated to pick up their ambitions again, despite their age and the years lost.
